On Sunday Bedminster Cricket Club 1st XI were crowned winners in the Somerset Cricket Foundation Major Cup Final. The match played against Taunton St. Andrews (TSA) held at the Cooper Associates County Ground (Somerset CCC) saw Bedminster win by 84 runs.
Captain Matt Brewer won the toss and elected to bat first. Bedminster recovered from 10-2 after a shaky start with both openers being dismissed early on, to put on 152 for 6 off their 20 overs. The highlights included a partnership of 98 runs between Brewer (61 off 43 balls) and 65 off of 44 balls from Sai Kamuni.
In reply TSA could only manage 68 all out from 15.2 overs, with Harry Drissell claiming the man of the match award with his 4 wickets. Drissell finished with figures of 4-1-14-4, aided by two 'worldly' catches from Joe Millard at point. Other wickets were shared between Max Tryfonos (4-0-18-3), Kamuni (2-0-15-1), Millard (4-0-14-1) and Ben Cunliffe claiming the last wicket to finish with 1 wicket for 1 run off his two balls.
