Now that the calendar has ticked over to 2025 it’s time to start thinking about cricket again! So, dust off those cricket bags, remove whatever was festering in them from last summer and start to prepare for the new season which will be here before we know it!
Details for winter training sessions for both senior and youth sections have been confirmed and within this article you will find links of how to book the sessions.
BCC Senior Winter Training 2025
The 12 week sessions will commence on Thursday 16th January and run until Thursday 10th April - excluding Thursday 20th February.
There will once again be two sessions. The first session will be from 6.30pm to 8.00pm. This will be for the 4th XI, 5th XI, 6th XI, and The Belles. The second session will be from 8.00pm to 9.30pm. This will be for the 1st XI, 2nd XI, 3rd XI and U17’s.
The training will be at The Downs School, Wraxall, Bristol, BS48 1PF.
New players are very much welcome! If you are a new player or an existing player unsure of which session to join, please contact Rich Filer who will be able to let you know which session to attend.
A discounted payment of £50 for all twelve sessions can be made here, or each individual session will cost £5. New players will not need to pay for their first session.

All sessions begin w/c 13th January until w/c 7th April – except w/c 17th February.
All training will be at Merchants Academy, Molesworth Drive, Withywood, Bristol, BS13 9BJ.
Winter training is an ideal opportunity for Youth players to get to know other players in their age group and learn the skills necessary for hard-ball cricket. It also gives the coaches a chance to ensure they are ready for hard ball.
New players are welcome to attend and should drop an email to Jason Barnes to advise of planned attendance for the first week, to ensure we have capacity to operate safely.
As with the Senior section, a discounted payment of £50 for all twelve sessions can be made (Phoenixes, U15’s, U11’s and U13’s) or each individual session will cost £5. New players will not need to pay for their first net session.
