Bedminster CC enter new T20 midweek league

Bedminster CC enter new T20 midweek league

Chris Giles2 Feb 2022 - 15:08

Lots of cricket for all in 2022 at Bedminster CC

Bedminster CC have entered the new Bristol T20 league. Bedminster have been placed in division 3 of the competition and have been drawn in a group with Knowle CC, Portishead CC and Failand & Portbury CC.

Matches will be played home and away between May & July, with promotion and relegation up for grabs. This is the first year of the competition and should provide a good opportunity for competitive, but social mid-week cricket.

Although we await the full league rules, WEPL players can potentially play, but numbers for any one game maybe limited. In addition, potentially they will not be allowed to bowl or score more than 50, however, we will await the full rules that will confirm this.

The club wanted to enter this competition to provide a shorter format of the game and allow everyone in the club to experience 20 over cricket.

WEPL players will again get the chance to play in the WEPL T20 where we have been drawn against Bristol CC and Golden Hill CC and we will host these matches on 22nd May at the Clanage.

In addition, the club has entered the B & D T20 Cup (no WEPL players), the Somerset Knockout T20 (we won this in 2021) and the Gloucestershire 40 over cup. Lastly, the 1st XI will begin their competitive season with a preliminary round of the ECB Royal London Cup at home against Neath CC on May 1st.
